Who made a stop at House Of Blues Atlantic City at Showboat recently? A bunch of awesome acts came in to close the year this past week – Mac Miller, The Roots, Rusko, Backstreet Boys, Jane’s Addiction…come to think of it, SO many amazing shows hit that stage this year! Continuing with our end of the year wrap-ups, we wanted to share the Top Shows of 2012 at House Of Blues Atlantic City with you. All these artists played to sold out crowds or near sold out crowds at the venue.
Guns N’ Roses – 2/24/12
Even with the missing original members of the band, Axl Rose still brought many of you out in droves this past February to see the newest formation of Guns N’ Roses. HOB AC was lucky enough to be one of the twelve cities visited by this tour and it definitely showed. The words “magical” and “Best. Show. Ever” have been so eloquently used to describe this show. We can only hope that they give it another go in 2013. Patience…we love puns.
Avalanche Tour (Shinedown, Adelitas Way, Art Of Dying) – 4/21/12
Ya’ll like your rock…and probably Shinedown too as they were headlining this bill and used it as a platform to spread the sounds of their newest album, Amaryllis released back in March. This was the second year of the organized tour presented by Zippo and also featured Adelitas Way and Art Of Dying. We wonder what/who the 2013 Avalanche Tour will consist of…and feel pretty safe in saying that no matter who it is, you all will most likely enjoy.
Marilyn Manson – 5/4/12
In true Marilyn Manson fashion, he started his tour a couple days BEFORE his album Born Villain dropped, opposed to most artists who kick off tours days or sometimes months after album releases. HOB concert go-ers did have a couple days to learn all the lyrics before seeing the man in concert, though. In any case, it didn’t seem to matter because he still played to a packed house and carried the show through with his typical antics such as shoving a fan’s cellphone down his pants and knocking over his mic stand multiple upon multiple times. Gotta love it.
The Gaslight Anthem with Cage the Elephant – 6/22/12
Jersey boys came home and ya’ll showed up! Probably didn’t hurt that they teamed up with Cage The Elephant, very talked about and acclaimed in the music world. The show was also a great way to open up the weekend of Orion Festival here in Atlantic City where Metallica took over Bader Field for a two-nighter. Words describing this show = “kick ass” and “awesome”. Duh.
Coheed & Cambria – 9/29/12
Apparently everyone was pulling Marilyn Mansons this year because Coheed & Cambria rocked a show at House Of Blues Atlantic City in September before their part-one release (The Afterman: Ascension) of a huge, two-part release. Did that make sense? What we’re trying to say is that they used their September show to tease their October album drop. And it worked to their advantage too. Cause you guys were curious and showed up enough to make Coheed & Cambria one of the best selling shows at HOB AC this year.
Mac Miller – 12/26 & 12/27/12
Mac Miller has started a tradition within the past couple years making holiday show runs here at House Of Blues AC (we love him for that) and he ALWAYS sells out. And of course, this year was no different! It doesn’t hurt that Mac keeps putting out hit after hit. His latest digital release, Macadelic, was just coined one of the 50 Best Albums of 2012 by Complex Magazine. We can’t wait to see what 2013 will bring!
Backstreet Boys – 12/30/12
Backstreet’s Back, alright! The boys performed at House Of Blues during their three-show, 2012 holiday run this year and fans flocked from all over to come. Everyone got down to the hits, old and new, and every voice in that place busted out I Want It That Way at the top of their lungs when the time came. The guys hinted towards a big 2013 with a new album and tour, so we can only hope they’ll come back and do it all over again!
Until then, we hope you all got to experience one of your favorite Atlantic City concerts of 2012 here at House Of Blues Atlantic City at Showboat Hotel & Casino. From the looks of it, 2013 is shaping up to be equally as awesome!
