Tahiry Jose Looking Forward To Being Out There With You At Foundation Room On Friday

This Friday is April 5th. It is also the first Friday of the month which means First Fridays will be going down at Foundation Room at Showboat Atlantic City! What better way to start off the new month than with a huuuuuuuuge party?! This Friday’s First Friday (ya got that?) is going to be even more of a night to remember because it will be hosted by Tahiry Jose from Love & Hip Hop.

Season 3 of Love & Hip Hop New York wrapped up on Monday night and there were just so many dang cliffhangers! We recently just sat down with Tahiry to talk about the show, First Fridays at Foundation Room and more! Check it out, below.

Tahiry Jose

TAC: We are excited to have you here in Atlantic City on April 5th! What are you most looking forward to about hosting First Fridays at Foundation Room?

Tahiry: Throughout all of this roller coaster ride and the experience on reality TV and just being in the game for four years, I really do appreciate my fans. Having a room full of people that are out there and showing me love…I still walk into these places and I’m surprised! It’s really exciting. I’m looking forward to just being out there with the fans.

TAC: Season 3 was your first season on Love & Hip Hop. How would you describe your experience with the show after completing your first season and were there any misconceptions you had going in that turned out to be false?

Tahiry: In the beginning I was really nervous because I come from the internet so I was able to control what we posted and at this point, VH1 was in control, so it was pretty nerve-wracking in the beginning. Looking back to doing the season, I’m not mad whatsoever. I think it was very therapeutic. I was able to watch my reaction to things. I was forced to deal with issues that I’ve probably been running from. They were right there in my face like situations with my dad, situations with Joe, situations with me reacting a little volatile where I look back and realize I could have handled it in a different way. It was pretty much a learning experience for me. I have no qualms whatsoever about it.

TAC: Around the time the show premiered, you said you would never get back together with Joe Budden and now there are reports claiming that you are together again which you have also denied. Do you still stand by your statements you made back in January and what is the ideal relationship you would want with him?

Tahiry: All I can say about the Joe situation is that again, from doing the show, we probably realized a lot of things that we were running from. Today, we’re in a better space. We’re able to at least sit and laugh about these things and not always fight. We’re just taking it a day at a time. As far as getting back together, we’re not. We’re not together, but we are taking the time to learn each other day by day and learn the new Tahiry and the new Joe because a lot has changed. A lot has changed when it comes to me, when it comes to my career, when it comes to his, and when it comes to him as a person. Today, we’re in a better space as human beings. We’re not rushing into getting back together; we’re just taking it a day at a time.

TAC: What kind of man would be a perfect fit for you?

Tahiry: Perfect man: Funny, smart about his business, very driven and somebody who really takes care of themselves. I just really like a man who is good is what he does and stays focused. Someone with ambition.

TAC: It seems like rumors start to fly out of control with people who have appeared on reality TV shows! What’s the most ridiculous rumor you have ever heard about yourself?

Tahiry: I’ve heard everything! You can’t believe everything you read and don’t believe the hype. I’ve heard everything from my butt being fake to a thousand other horrible rumors. But it comes with the territory, and that’s when I wake up and say ‘Mom, I made it!’ People call me all day with stuff I didn’t know about myself like I’m going out on dates, but I’m home on the couch, or Joey just left my house because he slept over, but there’s nobody in my house or I was out of town. You hear from the good, the bad, the ugly, the negative, but when they stop talking, that’s when you need to worry.

TAC: What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

Tahiry: That I have a college degree. I’m a college graduate from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

TAC: Good for you! You are a force to be reckoned with on social media! What do you think it is about you that resonates with so many people?

Tahiry: That I’m relatable. I’m the girl next door. I think the fact that the people were able to grow with me and watch me grow, from the beginning of being on new episodes to now being on reality TV and being the girl that went to school and didn’t really care about a cover and got a cover, people watched me grow from a blog to being on TV, to going to charity events and they can follow my story and feel like it’s not so farfetched. They don’t feel like they can’t do it. They can relate that I’m just a regular person who grinds every day and nothing is impossible.

TAC: You have so much going on – modeling, acting, reality TV….and more! What is a typical day for you like?

Tahiry: Depending on what I have to do, wake up in the morning, gym, butt massage, meals, e-mails and might have to do a red carpet, so hair and makeup. If I don’t have to do a red carpet, studio time, if not I’m reading a script. For the most part, I might have to go out of town which means pack and then leave, and for the next three days out of town I’ll be doing parties and radio station interviews. It all depends on my day, but it always starts really early and it might not end until really late. It’s 24-hours a day.

TAC: What’s your secret to keeping fit?

Tahiry: I tend to focus on my body 100 percent when I have something coming up like a shoot. I try to eat clean, but I don’t deprive myself from anything I’m craving. I eat a little bit of what it is I am craving at the moment, but I eat small meals, I work out about three times a week, I drink a lot of water and I stick to my proteins and take my vitamins every morning.

TAC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

(Tahiry is laughing!)

Tahiry: I hate that question because five years ago, I didn’t see myself here. Ten years ago I didn’t see myself here either. You can have some kind of plan, but life always throws you curveballs. But ten years from now, I hope to be married with children and owning a little bit of everything. I’m in the process of building my empire from clothes to music, owning my bar restaurant because I used to wait tables and bartend, and hosting to being actually married somewhere.

We hope all of that comes true for you, Tahiry!

In the meantime, get your party on with Tahiry this Friday at Foundation Room at Showboat. Doors open at 10 p.m., don’t be late!

Total AC Blog: Where Everybody Knows All The Info On The CHEERS Video Slot Game

Do you want to go where everybody knows your name? We have the perfect solution: Check out the Cheers slots at Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, Showboat Atlantic City and Bally’s Atlantic City!

Cheers

What it comes down to is that you want to spin that pretty looking wheel. That’s where all the magic happens. To do this, you need to land at least five WHEEL symbols in the base game or three WHEEL symbols on a free spin. The Lucky Round Bonus Wheel gives you the chance at mini-bonuses or up to 100x Cheers Credits.

And the mini-bonus rounds are:

CLIFF! If you win on Cliff’s first spin, you get a chance of a pick at 50x Cheers Credits. If you are playing Cliff on a Sam Re-Spin, you get a chance of a pick at 100x Cheers Credits.

NORM! Same deal as Sam. But the first spin gives you a chance of a pick at 10x Cheers Credits.

And of course the SAM RE-SPIN. You get the drift of that one by now.

Check out the action.

Sounds and looks fun, right?

For even more fun facts about the game, check out this interview we did with game producer Steven Rosen.

TAC: You are a game producer at WMS Gaming and kind of take the lead in working with game designers in creating some of your popular video slots. How would you describe your job for everyone out there?

Steven Rosen: I think as a producer, you’re mostly an enabler. Outside from managing people, we’re managing products as well. One of the things that we need to make sure we are doing here is schedule versus creativity; making sure that we make the best products possible and making sure that our people are getting everything they need to do that. Producing is sort of an all-encompassing job. Movie producers are different from video game producers versus slot producers. As a slot producer, I’m managing up to six to eight games at a time in various stages where if you are a video game producer, you are managing one game for two years. We are sort of in and out in six to eight months. That is sort of our process here.

TAC: How did you get into this profession?

Steven Rosen: When I left Indiana University in 2002, I wanted to be in film production. That was my dream job, so I moved out to California in 2002 and worked at a production company called Maverick Films, which is Madonna’s film company, for about two years. We made a couple of movies – Agent Cody Banks with Frankie Munez and Hilary Duff. I’m a Midwest guy and LA was just not for me, so I moved back here and went to work at Midway Games so I could stay in entertainment. I worked on different titles like NBA Ballers, Mortal Combat, and a couple of those games just helping out and learning my craft. I came here in 2006 and I’ve been here ever since, almost seven years.

TAC: What do you like most about your job?

Steven Rosen: Every day is different. We are dealing with so many different departments and I utilize so many different relationships on a daily basis. I think that’s probably the best part for me because we work with so many wonderful people here. The other great thing for me, staying in entertainment, is that I’m giving people an entertainment experience. Something that is taking their mind off of something whether it be for an hour, a half hour, ten minutes, it’s an entertainment experience.  I get to work on some amazing licenses we have here. Favorite movies like The Wizard Of Oz and Willy Wonka and then Cheers, I’ve watched for years. This wasn’t actually something I was really looking for, but I sort of fell into it and fell in love with it.

TAC: What was your involvement with this particular game, the Cheers video slot?

Steven Rosen: I was the producer on the game. One of the things in particular we knew was that we wanted to knew the characters, so we had that. We had to get all the music rights so we had to chase those down and make sure those came with the license, and the other thing that we do with a lot of our games is we use sound-alikes for narration. In this particular case, I thought that John Ratzenberger in particular, who is Cliff Clavin, had such a recognizable voice. In fact, he’s in every Pixar movie ever made; they utilize his voice in every picture. We approached him about it and he was really into it and we got a chance to spend some time with him while he was doing it. To me, he really legitimized the license for us. He was able to get into character so quickly and improvise things we didn’t even write for him in a script just because he knew the character so well. That was really the main focus of it. And then for this one in particular, we prototyped and we wanted to make sure we had not only the right moments, but we needed to make people laugh because that’s what they remember from the show. Utilizing those clips and those characters was something that we absolutely had to do. And for the actual production of it, we had to cut up clips and go through the 170 episodes of Cheers, so we made sure that we got good clips and showed people that kind of stuff, but also made sure we legitimized the license with John Ratzenberger.

TAC: How did the idea come about to create a video slot machine game based on this popular TV show?

Steven Rosen: We do a lot of license testing here. We’ve done other TV show licenses like Green Acres and Happy Days, so it was sort of the next natural step for us. We tested the license and it tested very favorably. We knew when we secured the license that we were going to go after talent which is a big part for us. We got that and got the theme song which everybody knows is “Where Everybody Knows Your Name”, no pun intended. And we approached CBS and we were able to get the license from them.

TAC: What kind of fun fact did you learn about Cheers through the whole process?

Steven Rosen: It wasn’t so much a learning process as it was spending an hour and a half with John Ratzenberger listening to him tell stories about the set and the show. He talked a lot about how it was such an amazing experience for him. We’ve done a lot of voice over work with different celebrities and this is one of the best ones for me because he was so into the character that it brought back so many great memories for him.

TAC: What about this game do you think will resonate with so many of our players?

Steven Rosen: We’ve given the player those moments with Woody Harrelson and his character, Carla sort of being a smart ass, Sam being a womanizer. We have these little clips from the show that really bring that back for him. And every time you play it, you get the instrumental and then when you get to the free spins, you get the entire song, because that song just resonates so much with people and puts them in a really feel good mood that makes me thinks people will really get into it.

TAC: What other popular games have you had a hand in bringing to life over your career?

Steven Rosen: I did the original Lord Of The Rings video product which was a great treat to work on. I worked on our Aladdin game which utilized our sensory 2.0 chair, a moving chair, so that was really neat to work on because it was sort of the first in that category. I also worked on The Godfather.

TAC: Love it! What kind of game would you love to be involved with someday that you haven’t had a hand in yet?

Steven Rosen: I’m working on one now and I can’t talk about it! It’s my favorite movie of all time. Since I’ve been here, it was the one license that I’ve wanted. I got to meet some of the cast. It’s an ‘80s classic, how about that? It will be out soon, we’re just finishing up. I got to live my dream by recreating this film into a slot machine and sort of give my own homage to it a little bit because I really had a hand in not only producing but the design as well. It’s one of those movies that 25 plus years later still really holds true.

Ah, a cliff hanger! We can’t wait to keep checking back to see what it will be! In the meantime, enjoy the Cheers video slot at Caesars, Harrah’s Resort, Showboat and Bally’s!

How many of you have mastered the game of blackjack since we so graciously gave you our guide a couple weeks back? Now it’s time to spice it up a bit. We think ya’ll should try your luck at Single Deck Blackjack next.

Single Deck Blackjack

Single Deck Blackjack is offered at Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, Showboat Atlantic City and Bally’s Atlantic City. The game rules for this one vary slightly depending on the state or casino, but we’re going to tell you how to play with us, k? In the simplest terms, you play this game exactly how you play regular blackjack, EXCEPT for the following rules:

  • This game only uses one deck of cards….duh. Hence the name of the game.
  • Dealer must always hit on a soft 17 and stand on a hard 17.
  • Players can double down on any of their first two cards.
  • Players can not double down after a split.
  • Players can only split twice for a total of three hands.
  • If a player splits a pair of Aces, he/she can only have one more card dealt to each. If player receives a 10 valued card here, play is classified as a 21, not a blackjack.

Top 6 Best Named Beers We Hope To See At Atlantic City Beer Week

Atlantic City Beer Week is going down! This extra amazing event will take place at Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, Showboat Atlantic City and Bally’s Atlantic City April 4th through April 12th. We’ll give you all the 411 in a sec, but first, check out the Top 6 Best Named Beers we hope to see from Atlantic City Beer Week participating breweries.

In no particular order:

1. Bitches Brew from Dogfish Head Brewery

Bitches Brew

All you beer fanatics knew we were gonna say this one, didn’t you? Named after the popular 1970 Miles Davis album, the bottle is adorned with the respective album artwork. This brew is a dark one with “three threads of imperial stout and one thread of honey beer with gesho root”. It’s the avant-garde of beers and likewise is only available in limited quantities. The experts say that Bitches Brew goes best with chilli, spicy curry chicken and creamy blue cheese.

2. Trogenator Double Bock from Troegs Brewing Company

Trogenator Double Bock

If you could hear us right now, you would know that we are speaking in our best Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator voice because that’s what the word Trogenator brings to mind. Is it a robot? Is it a super hero? No, it’s a dark lager, ya’ll. The nose on it is said to be a “bready malt”. This bronze beauty can keep you full for a good period of time. As Troegs says, the Trogenator gives you “warmth and nourishment all throughout the year”. That’s right, it’s available all year long. And you can taste a little spice on it. Best food pairings for this one are beef and sweet desserts sans chocolate.

3. Mama’s Little Yella Pils from Oskar Blues Brewery

Mama's Little Yella Pils

Pilsner = type of pale lager. And we’re guessing this one is yella. LOLz. Funny. It’s made with “100% pale malt, German specialty malts and Saaz hops”. Not too heavy and refreshing. Good for this time of the year and a nice go-to anytime/any day beer.

4. Old Chub Scotch Ale from Oskar Blues Brewery

Old Chub

Old Chub. These people are geniuses, we tell ya! Made with a boatload of grains, malted barley and “beechwood smoked malt”. Dark and sweet. Think all of your favs – chocolate, coffee…need we say more? Oh yeah, caramel. Hence the old chub, we guess. And apparently is a little smokey on the last gulp. Supposedly great with most buttery cheeses and smoked meats.

5. Merry Monks by Weyerbacher Brewery

Merry Monks

Are monks merry? We guess so! And do they like beer? Looks like it! Whatever the case, this one is a Belgian style Tripel with a creamy texture due to a little yeast and sugar added before bottling. Tastebuds detect a little banana here and the finish is a little dry. If you’re into the dry, just age it a bit. Don’t dig in right away. Merry Monks is available all year long. Said to be good with Meditteranean cuisine, sharp cheeses and pork!

6. Honkers Ale by Goose Island

Honkers Ale

Beep, beep. Honk, honk! Make room for this English style ale. Fruity to the nose and rich and malty to the tummy. This is probably because it is made with 2 row, caramel, and roasted wheat barley malts. Honkers is another year round beer and is best with a burger or fish and chips if you want to get down with the culture of the ale.

Now that you got through our childish behavior of funny beer names, let us fill you in on the details. Atlantic City Beer Week will feature special beer selections, pairings, dinners and demonstrations at Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City properties. Browse details by property:

Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City’s Luckiest Bets For Saint Patrick’s Day Weekend

We’re one short day away from St. Patrick’s Day weekend, folks. How many of you are just jolly and rosy cheeked about this? To get ya into the spirit Irish eyes smilin’, we decided to share the luckiest places to do Irish things…and not Irish things…at Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City this weekend…along with using countless Irish words and phrases…and writing in green. Are you feeling it yet?

Luckiest Place To Get A Traditional Irish Meal on St. Paddy’s Day Weekend

St. Patrick's Day

6ix: A Bistro at Bally’s Atlantic City and Cafe Roma at Caesars Atlantic City

6ix: A Bistro will be serving frittatas for $12.75 and Corn Beef & Cabbage with Irish Potato Pancake and Potato Barley Soup for $18 on March 16th and 17th while Cafe Roma will be dishing out Corned Beef & Cabbage with Irish Potatoes and Bread Pudding for $24.99 both days. Through Irish hearts…and Irish stomachs.

And if you’re not into Irish food specials, that’s okay, cause we got ya covered too! Special category, just for you:

Luckiest Place To Get A Cheap Meal On St. Patrick’s Day Weekend

Buddakan 5
Pictured: Asian Caesar Salad at Buddakan at The Pier Shops At Caesars

Lucky for you, Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City extended Atlantic City Restaurant Week until Saturday. This means you can still score lunch for $15.13 and dinner for $33.13 per person. Click here to see the list of our participating restaurant outlets. Luck in a bucket, we tell ya.

Luckiest Place To Get Schwasted On St. Pat’s Day Weekend

Jim Beam Wild West Bar

Because what is this holiday without beer? Nothing. Seems like the luck of the Irish is coming your way again for this one because the Jim Beam Wild West Bar at Bally’s is offering shots of Jameson for $2 and Guinness drafts for $3 on Saturday and Sunday. Pretty sure that’s the cheapest in Atlantic City. Get it!

Luckiest Spot To Catch The Atlantic City St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Boardwalk Beer Garden

Worship Surf Bar

The Atlantic City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will commence at 1:00 p.m. on March 16th on the Atlantic City boardwalk, starting at North Carolina Ave. and ending at Albany Ave. Be sure to enjoy the view at Boardwalk Beer Garden at Caesars as it will reopen for this one, festive day until summer is upon us, as well as Worship Surf Bar at Showboat Atlantic City while enjoying some “kegs and eggs”.

Luckiest Place To Kiss An Irish Or Plastic Paddy on St. Patrick’s Day Weekend

The Pool After Dark

The Pool After Dark at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, duh. And we’re not just saying that. We have a theory behind this one. The Pool After Dark is hosting a Pajama Party on Aqua Friday. Being kissed in your jammies means so much more than being kissed in regular club attire. Ya know? All vulnerable and shiz. Besides, where else can  you get kissed in PJs on Saint Patrick’s Day weekend in AC? Plus, there is going to be a special Mystery Performer. Is he/she Irish? We don’t know. Top of the morning to ya, if all goes well there.

Luckiest Way To Win A Pot O Gold on Saint Paddy’s Day Weekend

Three Card Poker

Three Card Poker at Caesars, Harrah’s  Resort, Bally’s and Showboat Atlantic City.

And by luckiest way, we mean easiest. Obvs, there are plenty of ways to be lucky in our Atlantic City casinos like progressive slot jackpots or the Total Bad Beat. In three card poker though, you can win $1 million dollars in just one shot. If you’re lucky. And this game made the most millionaires for Caesars Entertainment in 2012. Try it out and paint the casino green!

At any rate, we hope this was as fun for you as it was for us. Check out our Total Atlantic City event calendar for more and happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
