Harry’s Helping Hands has garnered an amazing response and will run until November 24th. The local community has really band together to spread the word about this effort via word of mouth and social media. One woman in particular even offered up hot showers at her home to those without power.
“It is so sad that it takes a tragedy like this to bring communities together, but it’s tragedies like this that make us stronger and wiser,” said Kim Brownell, General Manager at Harry’s Oyster Bar & Seafood. “There is always someone out there less fortunate than us. Sometimes a smile or a hug is all it takes to make a difference. Harry’s is offering both of those!”
Here’s the deal: Harry’s is giving a dozen oysters for $6 to anyone who donates a shopping bag of nonperishable food items. They are also offering the dollar amount in lbs. off your dinner bill for all other needed items (baby items, clothes, blankets, etc.) brought in. (Max is $30). And of course, smile and hugs in abundance.
