May May Bring You Lots Of Visits To Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City

As you probably know, May will be here in one day! Yay! We like May around here at Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City. The end of the month of course marks the unofficial start of summer, but the prior three weeks rocks our socks too. It’s just a feel-good month and Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, Showboat Atlantic City and Bally’s Atlantic City has some jam packed action for you leading up to Memorial Day. Take a look:

Well actually, stop, collaborate and listen for a sec. (This is our blog. We can throw in Vanilla Ice whenever we please.) Before you do anything crazy at Caesars, Harrah’s Resort, Showboat OR Bally’s, you need a good room deal, right? Have you checked out your Total AC Blog Special Offers page lately? Spring Room Packages are right at your finger tips. Check them out and get some extra goods for a great price –

Now the first weekend in May (aka THIS WEEKEND) is a double whammy! We have the Kentucky Derby on Saturday and Cinco De Mayo.

Cinco De Mayo 3

We gave you a little preview of this weekend last week in Total AC Blog here, but what we didn’t tell you is that there will be some celeb friends in the house to help ya’ll celebrate.

Kevin Rudolf will be taking over the hosting reins this Friday at The Pool After Dark at Harrah’s Resort. You know him.

Sound familiar?

Totally appropriate.

And Saturday will not only mark the Kentucky Derby and Eve of Cinco De Mayo, but is also The Pool After Dark’s 6th Year Anniversary! It’s a party! And it’s a party hosted by Paris Hilton.

Paris Hilton

Pricing starts at $20.

Shinedown and Bush will also be gracing the House Of Blues Atlantic City stage on Saturday. Shinedown was one of the most popular shows last year at HOB AC and this year should be no different! And how can it not be, they are bringing Gavin Rossdale this time!

You know you want to! Get your last minute tickets, here!

The next weekend is a biggie too and it starts off with National Shrimp Day on May 10th.

National Shrimp Day

We filled you in on that one last week too, here. But ya’ll LOVE your shrimp. Get it!

Then of course Sunday is Mother’s Day. Did you get your mama anything yet? Don’t forget! Let us shower you with a couple suggestions. Is your Mom a tad more old school or does she swing a little more new school?

Jazz up the old school’s kitchen a bit with some cute “Eat At Mom’s” giftware

Eat At Mom's giftware

Or some beautiful nature-themed pieces of The Botanical Collection. Get these at Caesars Exclusively at Caesars, The Viking Cooking School at Harrah’s Resort, and The Gift Shop at Bally’s.

The Botanical Collection

Eat At Mom’s is available at The Viking Cooking School, and the gift shops at Bally’s and Showboat.

What about some Yoga Jeans for those trendsetter moms?

Second Denim Yoga Jeans

No pair is the same as each is individually hand rubbed and nicked. And they are comfortable enough to do anything in. Even yoga. Hence the name. Get them at Caesars Exclusively and Studio at The Waterfront Shops at Harrah’s.

Then there are bags; bags for days!

Big Buddha purses

The Big Buddha Spring 2013 collection has a style to match every personality. Patterned or solid, bright or dark, grab whatever fits your Mom best at Studio at Harrah’s Resort and Bally’s, Caesars Exclusively at Caesars and The Gift Shop at Showboat!

Not so fast…don’t forget the Tiffany & Co.!

The Victoria pendant and earrings are a fabulous, classic look to surprise any mother.

Tiffany & Co. 1

You never k now when life may call for some diamonds and platinum.

Or perhaps more often, pearls!

Tiffany & Co. 2

Tiffany & Co. at The Pier Shops at Caesars has these amaze pearl bracelets with sterling silver in any size you fancy – 4-5 mm, 9-10 mm, 4.5-5 mm, and 7-8 mm.

Can never go wrong with Tiffany & Co., kids and hubs.

Another thing you can never go wrong with is some kind of pampering.

Qua Baths & Spa

For example, Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars will be offering the #1 Mother on the special day for your special ladies. This includes a full body scrub, 50 minute classic massage, organic facial and spa lunch.

And if your favorite mom wants to bring a favorite mom of hers along, the One + One would be perfect! Mamas will get to choose between a massage or facial and get to enjoy a lunch for two.

Qua is so cool, they even have the Mom-to-be covered with the One On The Way package! Treat her to a 50 minute prenatal massage, Fijian scalp massage and lunch! She is probably having your child after all.

And if your spa knowledge is lacking and you just don’t understand anything we just said, why not pick up a gift certificate at Red Door Spa at Harrah’s Resort?

Red Door Spa

Every $200 spent here gets you a $30 spa card that can be used on any spa special or retail item until July 31st. Nice!

For all you children of the ‘80s and ‘90s turned Mamas, leave the kids at home this Mother’s Day weekend ‘cause it’s time to party!

The Pool After Dark will have Mr. Belding hosting Aqua Fridays on May 10th and Ben Savage…aka Cory Matthews taking over the mic on May 11th!

Mr Belding Dennis Haskins 1
Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?!
Ben Savage
I, Cory Matthews, am a PO-TAY-TO.

Take it back to those carefree days for two nights only! It’s gonna be hot!

And don’t forget the food! At the very least, a nice meal will suffice. Nero’s Tuscan Steakhouse at Caesars will be hosting a nice Mother’s Day Brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while Café Roma will be offering a 3 course menu for $24.95.

Sammy D’s at Harrah’s Resort will also have a 3 course menu handy that day for $24 and Dos Caminos will be whipping up some Mama’s Margaritas and some special Lobster Guacamole and  Pescado en Cazuela Veracruzano.

French Quarter Buffet will be open for brunch with champagne for Mother’s at Showboat from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Scarduzio’s Steak & Sushi will feature their Chicken Parmesan over spaghetti later on.

And finally, 6ix: A Bistro at Bally’s will offer a 3 course menu for $28.99 and Arturo’s will have a special 4 course menu for $34.99.

All properties will also be serving up Breakfast in Bed until 2 p.m. from May 10th to May 12th.

Woo!

And the last weekend BEFORE the unofficial start of summer might as well be the official start of summer because ya’ll are in for a fun ride yet AGAIN.

Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City will have something for everyone on Friday, May 17th starting with a Cupcakes & Cocktails event hosted by Vive Salon & Day Spa at the Foundation Room at Showboat.

Hope Cuts

We don’t know many people cupcakes and/or cocktails won’t work for. We know they would work for us. And even more special is that proceeds from this event will go to Hope Cuts to support breast cancer research. $20 gets you cupcakes, a $40 goodie bag, live music and the feeling that you did something good. Be there from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

From there, you rockers should head over to the Chevelle show at House Of Blues at 9 p.m., and you country folk should hit up the Trace Adkins show at Caesars.

Trace Adkins

It’s been some time since Caesars has seen such a big country act, not to mention one of the sexiest voices in the game!

And you past/present teeny boppers will love hanging out with Mya later on at The Pool After Dark! Catch the Grammy award winner perform live! Pricing starts at $10.

Starting back at 9 on Saturday the 18th, Brian McKnight will take over the Concert Venue at Harrah’s Resort!

Who wouldn’t want to listen to these smooth sounds? Candy to our ears.

And what better way to end this weekend then at The Pool After Dark with the newly inducted Chippendale, former 90210 and Dancing With The Stars alum, Ian Ziering.

Ian Ziering

Yes, please. Maybe he can preview some moves for us before he starts his run at The Rio in Vegas on June 6th.

We don’t know about you, but all that was a huge mouthful for us leading you up until Memorial Day weekend. That weekend of course deserves its own blog full of even more sarcasm, wit and ridiculousness, but let us just tempt you with the following words: Bikini Beach Bar OPEN, Sean Lowe THE BACHELOR, Blues Traveler, Mary J. Blige, Robin Leach and SOMEONE WILL BECOME A MILLIONAIRE.

Until then….get to Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City in May. Didn’t we give you enough reasons? Take advantage of the Spring Room Packages on the Special Offers page and get to it! May’s a tickin!

Top 6 Best Named Beers We Hope To See At Atlantic City Beer Week

Atlantic City Beer Week is going down! This extra amazing event will take place at Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, Showboat Atlantic City and Bally’s Atlantic City April 4th through April 12th. We’ll give you all the 411 in a sec, but first, check out the Top 6 Best Named Beers we hope to see from Atlantic City Beer Week participating breweries.

In no particular order:

1. Bitches Brew from Dogfish Head Brewery

Bitches Brew

All you beer fanatics knew we were gonna say this one, didn’t you? Named after the popular 1970 Miles Davis album, the bottle is adorned with the respective album artwork. This brew is a dark one with “three threads of imperial stout and one thread of honey beer with gesho root”. It’s the avant-garde of beers and likewise is only available in limited quantities. The experts say that Bitches Brew goes best with chilli, spicy curry chicken and creamy blue cheese.

2. Trogenator Double Bock from Troegs Brewing Company

Trogenator Double Bock

If you could hear us right now, you would know that we are speaking in our best Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator voice because that’s what the word Trogenator brings to mind. Is it a robot? Is it a super hero? No, it’s a dark lager, ya’ll. The nose on it is said to be a “bready malt”. This bronze beauty can keep you full for a good period of time. As Troegs says, the Trogenator gives you “warmth and nourishment all throughout the year”. That’s right, it’s available all year long. And you can taste a little spice on it. Best food pairings for this one are beef and sweet desserts sans chocolate.

3. Mama’s Little Yella Pils from Oskar Blues Brewery

Mama's Little Yella Pils

Pilsner = type of pale lager. And we’re guessing this one is yella. LOLz. Funny. It’s made with “100% pale malt, German specialty malts and Saaz hops”. Not too heavy and refreshing. Good for this time of the year and a nice go-to anytime/any day beer.

4. Old Chub Scotch Ale from Oskar Blues Brewery

Old Chub

Old Chub. These people are geniuses, we tell ya! Made with a boatload of grains, malted barley and “beechwood smoked malt”. Dark and sweet. Think all of your favs – chocolate, coffee…need we say more? Oh yeah, caramel. Hence the old chub, we guess. And apparently is a little smokey on the last gulp. Supposedly great with most buttery cheeses and smoked meats.

5. Merry Monks by Weyerbacher Brewery

Merry Monks

Are monks merry? We guess so! And do they like beer? Looks like it! Whatever the case, this one is a Belgian style Tripel with a creamy texture due to a little yeast and sugar added before bottling. Tastebuds detect a little banana here and the finish is a little dry. If you’re into the dry, just age it a bit. Don’t dig in right away. Merry Monks is available all year long. Said to be good with Meditteranean cuisine, sharp cheeses and pork!

6. Honkers Ale by Goose Island

Honkers Ale

Beep, beep. Honk, honk! Make room for this English style ale. Fruity to the nose and rich and malty to the tummy. This is probably because it is made with 2 row, caramel, and roasted wheat barley malts. Honkers is another year round beer and is best with a burger or fish and chips if you want to get down with the culture of the ale.

Now that you got through our childish behavior of funny beer names, let us fill you in on the details. Atlantic City Beer Week will feature special beer selections, pairings, dinners and demonstrations at Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City properties. Browse details by property:

Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City Provides Perfect March Retail Therapy

It’s March. That in-between month. Is it winter or is it spring? It’s confusing and it’s long. Most of us will not get any kind of break until May and need something, anything to look forward to. You know what we  say to that? Nothing that a little retail therapy can’t fix! In fact, Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City retail outlets have rolled out some awesome new collections this month just in time to beat this seasonal rut! So take a look. A little gift now and then never hurt anybody!

First off, there’s some totally hot and unique Jimmy Crystal sunglasses and jewelry, like the ones below, available at Studio at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, The Gift Shop at Showboat Atlantic City, Caesars Exclusively at Caesars Atlantic City and Studio at Bally’s Atlantic City.

Jimmy Crystal

Jimmy Crystal pieces are made with Swarovski crystals and run between $50 to $200.

And from crystals to diamonds and 18 karat gold because that’s how we roll, check out these Paloma Picasso Olive Leaf Rings from the new Olive Leaf Collection at Tiffany & Co. at The Pier Shops at Caesars (Psst – Check out their new Facebook page here, btw).

Tiffany & Co.

These Olive Leaf cabochon rings are made with, of course, diamonds and 18 karat gold and are available in peridot and rubellite, very indicative of Paloma Picasso’s style, combining bright, rich gemstones with high quality metals. This Olive Leaf collection in particular, much like extending the olive branch, symbolizes peace and abundance. Jennifer Styer, store director of Tiffany & Co. at The Pier Shops had this to say about the collection:

“Paloma’s Olive Leaf collection celebrates natural beauty and the serenity of gardens which is perfectly suited for spring.  Paloma has a brilliant eye for color, epitomized throughout the collection in jewelry such as the bib necklace with brilliant green tsavorites as well as drop earrings in translucent blue topaz.”

Browse other items in the collection in the gallery, below.

Now it’s time for some silver. With an edge. Studio at Harrah’s Resort and Caesars Exclusively at Caesars is now housing the Queen Baby selection.

Queen Baby

Sterling silver rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings with a little cubic zirconia here and there.

And good news for dudes too. Your King Baby is waiting for you at Top Drawer at Harrah’s and Caesars Exclusively at Caesars AC.

King Baby
Pow.

Solid silver skulls, shipwrecks and studs, oh my! Did ya like that alliteration? The price range for both of these collections are $150 to $1200…if you’re cool enough.

What about some new outfits to match with that jewelry or vice versa? Studio and Caesars Exclusively have both opened their doors to a new designer. Joseph Ribkoff has the perfect fashions for any gal whether you’re all about poppin’ with color or prefer more of the black and whites.

Joseph Ribkoff 1

Joseph Ribkoff 2

This line ranges from $100 to $300. SO not bad for designer clothing!

And for your final fashion to sport, what about a shot glass?

Bottlehood

Or a candy dish. Or a serving tray. Brought to you by Bottlehood, all these little goodies are made from recycled spirits bottles. What a perfect way to get your green on! Kick the spirits in one bottle and use it for the next. We totally dig it. And you can get them at any Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City property. Cool, right?

Anyway, we hope this little preview somehow brightened up this rainy Tuesday in March for you. Don’t forget to snag your favorites during your next stop at Harrah’s Resort, Caesars, Showboat or Bally’s!

A Night Out at Buddakan At The Pier Shops At Caesars Atlantic City

We had the pleasure to try out Buddakan this past weekend at The Pier Shops at Caesars Atlantic City. We’re not going to beat around the bush about this. It was one of the best Atlantic City restaurants we’ve ever experienced. Hands down. Must go. Now. And again and again.

The Stephen Starr upscale Asian Fusion joint has an ambiance that matches the food quality. As much as we love Atlantic City, you’re not in AC anymore the second you step into Buddakan. Sometimes this is a good thing. Especially in cases like this one. You’re transported to another culture, almost experiencing these dishes that in the way of a true tourist, and it’s totally awesome.

For example, an incredibly large Buddha watches over the central table of the restaurant and can be seen from any spot you dine.

Buddakan 3

Buddakan 2

Unless you want to be a little more romantical/high-roller-ish (whatever the occasion) of course and reserve a secluded booth along the upper- level outskirts of the restaurant.

Buddakan 1

The nice people at Buddakan let us experience the evening in one of these and treated us like royalty. The food made our tummies happy enough and this was a definite added bonus.

Onto the food. Buddakan encourages family style sharing and boasts a beautiful menu of appetizers, salads, noodles and rice, poultry, meat and fish entrees, side dishes, specialty cocktails and sake.

One of their most famous appetizer dishes is the Edamame Ravioli.

Buddakan 3

These flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth bites are cooked in a Sauternes-shallot broth.

Every bite is Heaven, seriously. Other appetizers on the menu include Mushroom Potstickers, Chicken & Ginger Dumplings, Spicy Rock Shrimp Bao Buns, King Crab Tempura, Kobe Beef Satay, Buddakan Style Sashimi, Cantonese Spring Rolls, Szechuan Pork Dumplings, Tuna Spring Rolls, and Boneless Char Sui Spare Ribs.

We are going to make it our mission to try every single one of these at some point.

For a salad option we had the choice between the Crispy Calamari Salad, Asian Caesar Salad, Buddakan House Salad, and Thai Chicken Salad. While all of them sound absolutely delectable, we chose to go with the Asian Caesar Salad because, well, pretty much everyone loves a Caesar salad, are we right?

Buddakan 5

The Asian Caesar Salad incorporated all of your favorite, classic Caesar Salad elements and had an amazing kick to it! First of all there were cashews. They are addicting. And the dressing had a spectacular Asian style zing to it that was also incredibly addicting. And the crispy noodle-ish croutons are to die for. You gotta try it, you really do.

Now you can’t go for Asian Fusion without trying a Noodles And Rice dish, right? Right! We went with a classic, here.

Buddakan 6

Chicken And Shrimp Pad Thai! Perhaps it’s not so classic on second thought, as most places usually offer you one or the other, but this another reason why Buddakan is so special. You get chicken AND shrimp in your pad thai. And it’s mixed with garlic sauce and peanuts. The flavor is hot and awesome. Always a winner. Other Noodles And Rice offerings are Crab Fried Rice, Vegetable Fried Rice, Shrimp Lo Mein, and Lobster Fried Rice.

Onto the entrees! Sesame Poached Tuna, anyone?

Buddakan 7

This mouthwatering dish is a spicy tuna tartare served with maitake mushrooms and sweet potatoes drizzled with a yuzu aioli. Very delish.

And lastly, the Wasabi Crusted Filet Mignon.

Buddakan 8

This dish seriously blew our minds. We’re even going to go a step further and say it was our favorite. Because it was. We’ve never tasted anything like it. It comes over a sweet potato mash and the combination of flavors between the filet and these sweet potatoes is just absolutely incredible. Definitely a must have.

Since we went this far, we might as well end it with dessert. Famous dessert.

Buddakan 9

The Zen-Fui Donuts. These are so good that they were even featured on the Food Network’s The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Very cool and very true. These sweet cream filled bites of deliciousness come with chocolate and banana dipping sauces. One just isn’t enough.

In fact, one just isn’t enough of anything at Buddakan at The Pier Shops at Caesars which is why we simply can not wait to go back for Round 2!  Check Buddakan Atlantic City out for yourself Monday through Thursday 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. & 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Atlantic City’s Most Indulgent Food Offerings Favorites

How many of you are feverishly trying to shovel in every fatty food imaginable before starting  your New Year’s diet at the beginning of January? We know we are! And apparently so is mostly everyone hitting the Atlantic City dining outlets at our properties. So much so in fact, that an official list was just released of “Atlantic City’s Most Indulgent Food Offerings” to get in your tummy before you start that diet! Some of our faves ruled the rankings, so we are going to share them with you.

8. Super Nacho Higante from Worship Surf Bar at Showboat Atlantic City.

Super Nacho Higante 2

Super Nacho Higante 2

Remember this one? This baby is over 56 ounces of nacho chips, salsa, cheese sauce, jalapeño peppers, shredded cheddar cheese and chopped cilantro. And if you or someone you know is able to eat this whole load during half time of your favorite NFL game, you obviously get the dish for free AND two free tickets to a show at House Of Blues Atlantic City. This whole, long-winded contest we just described is appropriate called Halftime Challenge. Good luck and may the eating gods be with you!

7. The Devil Made me Do It from Phillips Seafood at The Pier Shops at Caesars Atlantic City

The Devil Made Me Do It

Does this just look like a regular sundae to you? Well it’s not. Because it’s freakin’ two pounds.  Two pounds of decadent, warm and chewy chocolate brownie doused with rich vanilla ice cream, luscious white chocolate drizzle, hot fudge, whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Seriously. How can that not be good? It’s addicting. We’ve tried it. All two lbs of it. Hot fudge sundae on steroids, ya’ll.

4. S’more Pancakes from Sammy D’s at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City

S'more Pancakes

Do we really need to say more? Where else can you get S’more pancakes? Chocolate chip pancakes are all over the place. But not S’mores. If you fancy Sammy’s Buttermilk pancakes, try these with a twist. Why NOT add some marshmallows, chocolate chips and graham crackers to them? Why not? It will surely taste good. Get in there for breakfast (7 a.m. to noon) and get a batch…or two!

2. Banana Bread French Toast Sundae at The Reserve at Bally’s Atlantic City

Banana Bread French Toast

Who even thinks of making french toast with dessert-type bread?! Let alone adding vanilla gelato, chocolate ganache, cinnamon, sugar, roasted pineapple, glazed banana and walnut amoretti crumbles to it?! Chef Muldoon at The Reserve, that’s who! Isn’t this genius? We are telling you, it’s like nothing you’ve ever tasted before. What an explosion of flavors and a totally right-on-the-money-choice for the #2 spot.

Anyway, check out the rest of the list (including the #1 high cal selection) below created by our amazingly witty PR department. They are not duds.

WITH THAT NEW YEAR DIET RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER – HERE’S A COUNT DOWN TO ATLANTIC CITY’S MOST INDULGENT FOOD OFFERINGS

Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City Offers Up Sandwiches, Snacks-Foods, and Loaded Dishes that will have Guests Salivating Well into 2013

Atlantic City, NJ (December, 27, 2012) – As the ball drops on to a new year, so too does most American’s daily caloric intake, with the number one New Year’s resolution being to lose weight.  With New Year’s Eve falling on a Monday, this gives an entire week to let your bad self out with the most decadent desserts and enticing entrees on the East Coast. So before you make a pledge to shed some pounds make sure you brace your stomach for a night out on the town where calories are king – give yourself another week of indulgence and start that New Year’s resolution on Monday, January 7.  And for those of you who already have a balance between indulgence and working out, treat yourself throughout the year and try one of these tasty delights once a week/month in 2013.

10. Five Pound Lobster Tail (Atlantic Grill at Caesars) – Any seafood lover will tell you that there isn’t a better experience on the planet then dipping a succulent, juicy lobster tail in cup of hot drawn butter, but what happens when your lobster tail is too big to fit or if it is so heavy it causes a drawn-butter tidal wave?  Guests dining at the Atlantic Grill are extremely pleased to have that issue, as the restaurant known for serving up the freshest catches the ocean has to offer features a five-pound lobster tail that looks less like food and more like a sea monster.  Earlier in the year, a humongous 21-pound lobster was caught off the coast of Cape Cod Massachusetts. No word yet if Chef Matt Donovan of the Atlantic Grill is eyeing it up as a new special.

9.  Pizza Fondue (Sammy D’s at Harrah’s Resort) – Fondue was all the rage back in the early seventies. Well, break out those disco platforms shoes because Sammy D’s modern spin on this classic is turning Atlantic City into “Funky Town”.  Melted cheese alone is pretty good, now combine it with pepperoni and tomato sauce, then serve its contents in a pot, and what you have essentially created is a bowl of pizza soup. Now replace the spoon as the meal’s utensil with a crispy cheese cannelloni stick and you’ve achieved utter euphoria.

8. Super Nacho Higante (Worship Surf Club at Showboat) – Now coming to the table, weighing in at over 56oz and hailing from Mexico, your opponent SUPER NACHO HIGANTE!!! The mammoth is comprised of nacho chips, pico (salsa), cheese sauce, jalapeño peppers, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped cilantro making it the perfect food fiesta.  The titanic tower, known for dwarfing normal nachos, can be had for free. How, do you say? Simple, just finish the entire plate during the halftime of a football game and there you go – it’s on the house. Sound easy? Afraid not! This is a challenge that’s sure to give its competitors the carb chills.

7.  The Devil Made Me Do It (Phillips Seafood at The Pier Shops at Caesars) – Funny that this saying has stuck since the seventies when it became the popular catchphrase of the outrageous Geraldine Jones from The Flip Wilson Show. Geraldine usually uttered these words after dropping way too many pretty pennies on some unnecessary additions to her wardrobe, but gluttony comes to mind after eyeing the delicious dessert that holds the name at Philliips Seafood. Guests are welcomed to overindulge in two pounds of warm chocolate brownie smothered with classic vanilla ice cream, gooey white chocolate drizzle, whipped cream and chocolate shavings. It’s the bigger and better hot fudge sundae, and it’s okay. ‘Cause the Devil made you do it.

6. Cajun Tempura Battered Flounder Sandwich (Harry’s Oyster Bar and Seafood Restaurant at Bally’s) – It’s no fluke that this mouth-watering sea-sandwich makes our list. Steps: Take the day’s freshest catch, dredge in flower, dip in egg-binding-wash, encase in crispy panko breadcrumbs, deep-dive in the fryer, place world’s tiniest potato buns around and serve.  This sandwich is so big it not only covers the bread it sits on, but the plate it’s served on.  Think of the brontosaurus rack so huge that it flips over Fred’s car in the opening credits of The Flintstones, now replace that with a Flounder and you’ve got Harry’s signature sandwich.

5.  Strawberry Balsamic Gelato (Café Tazza at Caesars) – Okay, there’s an old Italian saying, “If it works in a salad, it works in anything.” Alright, that might not be an actual Italian saying, but it has to be what the creators at Café Tazza were thinking when they premiered their Strawberry Balsamic Gelato.  A bunch of Strawberry tart cut with a bite of acidity makes this a must-order at any time of the day. And for those who are unfamiliar with Gelato, think of it as ice cream’s suave, richer cousin that drives a Ferrari and has hair like Fabio.

4.  S’more Pancakes (Sammy D’s at Harrah’s Resort) – Doesn’t that last bite of pancake always come too soon? Don’t you wish you could have some more? You can at Sammy D’s as the breakfast menu literally boasts S’mores Pancakes. That’s right, those gooey treats said to be invented by the Girl Scouts; marshmallow, chocolate chips and graham crackers, all atop a classic buttermilk stack. Say some-more-S’mores ten times fast and you have the world’s tastiest tongue twister, literally.  Warning – Do not try and add pancakes to your next S’more campfire roast, only a licensed pancake professional like Sammy D should attempt. Plus, it would probably fall off your stick, thus creating a gooey mess and one angry park ranger.

3. Smithfield Char Grilled Double Cut Pork Chop (The Atlantic City Country Club) – The Country Club’s Executive Chef, Ed Daggers, has cooked for celebrities, athletes, and even for royalty (cough) Sultan of Brunei, so it’s no wonder he makes our list with a little down-home southern cooking. “You had me at Double Cut Pork Chop,” sounds as though it should have been a famous movie line, but alas, it’s not. It is however paired with a molasses-ginger BBQ sauce so good that you won’t just be licking your own fingers, you’ll be licking the fingers at everyone sitting at your table!  And Chef Ed takes applesauce to a new level with his stewed Granny Smith apple and dried cherry compote. Add some Whipped Sweet Potatoes to complete the meal and now all you need is a golf-cart to get you back to your car.

2. Banana Bread French Toast Sundae (The Reserve at Bally’s) – What could be better than the choice of two, sweet breakfast treats to start off your day? When they are combined and eaten for dinner…or after dinner, whatever your preference! Known more for creating a fabulous steak and seafood menu, Chef Joseph Muldoon shows that he can do a whole lot more than surf and turf. The King of The Reserve dessert menu, this banana bread French toast is decorated with vanilla gelato, chocolate ganache, cinnamon, sugar, roasted pineapple, glazed banana and walnut amoretti crumbles. Everything that makes up the most important meal of the day and more!

1. Pizza “Tartuffo (Mia Restaurant at Caesars) – America’s favorite pastime should really be eating pizza, sorry baseball. With over 350 slices being eaten every second, that argument carries some weight. Also carrying a bit a weight is Chef Chris Scarduzio’s monstrous pizza masterpiece topped with forest mushrooms, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, fresh-seasonal truffles, lobster, and melted foie gras.  Did someone just say truffles, lobster and melted goose-liver on a pizza?! No, you are not hallucinating from the forest mushrooms. This lavish delight is Mia restaurant’s richest pie, and at $75, it is Mia restaurant’s richest pie.

This is Jason.

Best Bartender of 2012

He is the Best Male Bartender of 2012 and he mixes the yummiest of drinks at Souzai Sushi & Sake at The Pier Shops at Caesars Atlantic City. The voting for these prestigious awards for 2013 ends on December 31, 2012, so be sure to get in on that here. Jason should totally keep his title because that means we can totally keep the bragging rights.

Four Must Have Rolls at Souzai Sushi & Sake at The Pier Shops at Caesars

Who likes sushi?

This one is for all of you who replied “me” or “I do”….or some other variation there of…. to that question.

Souzai Sushi & Sake at The Pier Shops at Caesars Atlantic City has an amazing sushi menu packed with traditional rolls and specialty rolls, so we’re going to share some with you just in time to start pondering for dinner.

Let’s start off with a bang instead of ending with one, k?

Souzai Sushi & Sake 1

This is the Japanese Hoagie Roll. And it’s incredibly delicious because it’s loaded with Spicy Blue Crab, Shrimp Tempura, Tuna, Cucumber, Avocado and topped with Spicy Mayo and Eel Sauce. The Shrimp Tempura gives it a nice crunch! Ridiculously good!

Next we have the Spicy Tuna Roll.

Souzai Sushi & Sake 2

It’s a classic. And a fav of many sushi buffs. Spicy tuna and cucumbers for the crunch. Really nice heat on this one. Get the soy sauce ready and start dipping!

Here’s another pretty one! The Dragon Roll.

Souzai Sushi & Sake 3

This is basically a California Roll (Crabstick, Avocado and Cucumbers…noms) topped with Unagi. What is Unagi, you ask? (We didn’t know either). Grilled freshwater eel. Yes, eel! Don’t be scared! It actually tastes good (you wouldn’t think you were eating eel) and compliments the roll quite nicely. Like mama always said, try it. You might like it.

You know we had to get our hands and mouths on a dessert roll too.

Souzai Sushi & Sake 4

This is the Fruit Rollup Roll. Doesn’t it look simply succulent? That right there is Mango, Pineapple, a touch of cilantro (we were surprised too, but again, it totally works), Cream Cheese and Mango Rum Compote in a Soy Wrapper topped with Strawberries, Almonds and Caramel. Nice and fluffy and light…and most definitely satisfied our sweet tooth!

Add these delicious cocktails to your sushi for an absolute perfect meal at Souzai Sushi & Sake at The Pier Shops at Caesars! Stop in any time Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. or from 11 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays!
