Train Hollywood Style At Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City’s Sweat AC Festival

So, Bristol Palin is getting some side eyes, eye rolls, and head shakes lately after her new Dancing With The Stars: All Stars cast promotional photos surfaced on the web.

Bristol Palin

Round 1 (2010)

Bristol Palin 2

Round 2 (2012)

She looks “dramatically” thinner this go-around, and of course all the Bitter Bettys out there are wondering why, stipulating, and starting nasty rumors. Oh, America. We bet the line “If I had money to pay a personal trainer, I would look that good too” was used a lot.

Well guess what, you can have your own trainer to the stars, Nat Bardonnet, at Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City‘s First Annual Sweat AC Festival on Sunday September 23rd. Nat will host two sessions of Hollywood Trim And Fit where she will put you through the same full body workouts she uses on uber celeb client, Halle Berry.

Umm, we want to look like Halle B, please.

Click here to buy tickets for the 7 a.m. or 9 a.m. session at Caesars Atlantic City and here to learn more about Sweat AC.

After this, the Bitter Bettys will be talking about you….nice!

Your Total AC Blog Boardwalk Hall Cirque Du Soleil Dralion Sneak Peak

Look at this awesomeness we stumbled across at Kennedy Plaza while taking a leisurely stroll on the Atlantic City boardwalk earlier today.

These are the Diabolos, and they are part of the Cirque Du Soleil show Dralion that premieres at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall tomorrow. The diabolo (aka Chinese yo yo) is a children’s game where each participant “maneuvers” (juggles, tosses, crazy throws, etc.) a wooden spool on a string between two handheld sticks. That made perfect sense, right?

This picture can probably explain it better.

Cirque Du Soleil

Workin' them sticks.

And it’s also like… a contest because each performer tries to totally beast one another.

Anyway, the Diabolos are just a small number of the 50 plus International cast members that make up Dralion. Other popular acts include Kala (the cross wheel), Hibana (the Aerial Hoop) and single handbalancing. Together, they send the message that man and nature are one.

Check out these acts along with the Diabolos at Cirque Du Soleil’s Dralion at Boardwalk Hall August 29th through September 2nd. Get your tickets here.

A Couple Q’s With Recent Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City Bad Beat Jackpot Winner

In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, last week, Narong Sae Whited (Noke), a professional poker player from Shelton, Washington, hit the biggest Bad Beat jackpot ($787,320) in Atlantic City history at Caesars.

Caesars Atlantic City Bad Beat

Noke thought he had it in the bag when he slapped his Quad Nines down on the table, but was totally baffled when Atlantic City’s own Nick Angelakopoulos showed a King-High Straight Flush. Under totally normal circumstances, Noke would have took the pot and hence, the Bad Beat was hit. Noke ended up taking home $237,154 of the grand prize while Angelakopoulos snagged $158,422 and 409 Total Rewards poker players got $958 just for playing poker at Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City at the right time. (We are pretty sure they thank you, Noke).

If you are totally confused by this Bad Beat stuff, check out our earlier blog post here, but not before reading our interview with Noke below.

TAC: What first went through your head when you realized you won the highest Bad Beat Jackpot in Atlantic City history?

Noke: Apparently when the person who had the very best hand turned it over, and said I got the very best, I figured he was just an idiot. There’s no way he could beat me, I had quad nines. I really thought I had a lock on the hand. The odds were pretty far off that he had a better hand than me, and my head was just blank. All I could do was just yell at the top of my lungs. I really did not expect to win it. I had only been playing here week after week just to catch a thousand dollars or a piece of the pie. The odds were really mind boggling that it would hit me, so it never dawned on me that that was the situation; that he had a better hand than me. I was just trying to play the best poker I could, and extract the most money out of the losing player I thought I could beat.

TAC: What is the first big purchase you made with your winnings?

Noke: I bought a 30 thousand dollar Rolex. That’s something I’ve been wanting for a long time, so I went and bought the Gold Presidential, and I’m pretty happy with that.

TAC: What do you plan to do with the rest?

Noke: I’m probably just going to sit on it. Use it for things like the children and emergencies. I’ve been playing poker for a living for twelve to fifteen years between pro and semi-pro, and I know that we have our ups and downs, so it’s nice to have a little back up.

TAC: What brought you to Atlantic City this trip where you ultimately ended up winning the Bad Beat Jackpot?

Noke: I’ve been coming to Caesars for at least five years. I’ve been on Diamond status for about five or six years here. I’m here pretty much every day or in Atlantic City every day to pretty much grind away at the poker table like a regular job, 8, 9, 10 hours a day, depending on the situation and if I feel up to it. The nice part is I can take the day off if I want. And I can take an extra few days off now.

TAC: What did you do to celebrate your winnings?

Noke: I got some suite rooms and I had some friends, and we just kind of partied and did normal guy stuff.

TAC: We gotcha! What do you like about playing Texas Hold ‘Em?

Noke: There’s a lot of elements about the game. The freedom that I have to be able to earn a living and do what I want, the fact that it is a game and I love playing games, the human part, reading people and the psychology behind it, the strategy involved in it, the luck factor, the ups, the downs, the roller coasters, it’s just a whole cornucopia of stuff that brings the game its attractiveness. It’s not going anywhere. It’s just going to continue to grow, it’s not a fad. It’s going to be here for a long time.

TAC: What game tips would you give to beginners?

Noke: I think the number one tip would be to find the very best player you know and get advice from them. And that’s really what helped me a lot is being able to know the difference between bad players and listening to their advice, and good players. The second biggest advice is if you’re very emotional, stay away from the game. Take emotions out of the game. You have to be very level headed about the game.

TAC: What was your background leading up to becoming a professional poker player?

Noke: Finance and accounting. Very much a numbers guy. I made the move probably around year 2000. I was in college. I was a stock broker working for Dean Witter and I started playing around online, and I realized that this was a lot more fun than being a stock broker. I took a pay cut, but now everything’s balanced out. Everything balances out along the way. I recommend don’t play poker for the money. Find something you really enjoy doing and everything else comes naturally. And I really enjoy playing poker. Not just because it’s a game of chance or gambling, but it’s just something that I’m good at. It encompasses a lot of things: mathematics, people skills, strategy skills, the ability to be disciplined, working structured hours. I wake up at a certain time, I play for a certain amount of time, not here and there or whatever I want, I stay within some sort of guidelines.

Get In My Belly

We had lunch at McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks today in Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, and since we’re such a nice Atlantic City blog, we thought we would share it with you.

Atlantic City Lunch

If you are looking for a somewhat healthy lunch option in Atlantic City, this one is a good go-to item. We would like to introduce you to the Romano Chicken Chop Salad. This mixed green salad is topped with grape tomatoes, olives, bacon, blue cheese crumbles and of course pan seared Romano Cheese crusted chicken tossed in a Balsamic Vinaigrette.

Yum. Check out the rest of the McCormick and Schmick’s lunch menu at Harrah’s here.

Atlantic City Merchandise That Will Leave You Fist Pumping And Looking Good

Since we heart Pauly D so much at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, it only makes sense that Destinations (in The Waterfront Shops right across from The Pool After Dark) now carries his Devoted Creations bronzers and bronzing spray.

Pauly D’s Sexy Swagg is a dark bronzer that contains Tattoo Fade Protecting and anti-aging components for all of you inked up and wrinkly peeps. Oh, and the scent is Exotic Kiss which HAS to be an added benefit.

Pauly D Sexy Swag

This product runs for $39.95 at Destinations.

Pauly D’s The After Party is a very, very dark silicone bronzer…and who wouldn’t welcome a little more silicone in their lives? Seriously. This one works FAST and smells like Iced Berry. This product consists of Monoi Butter to keep that skin smooth to the touch. (Oh, yeah). And also more anti-aging stuff. We think this Pauly D is onto something.

Pauly D The After Party

Get it for $49.95 at Destinations.

Next we have Pauly D’s Bronze Beats. This one is a natural bronzer that helps your regular color darken gradually. Like normal people. Bronze Beats is also good for you as the formula has some antioxidants thrown in (Black Tea Extract to be exact) that hide those ugly dark spots and blemishes. Fragrance is Coconut Nights. Nice!

Pauly D Bronze Beats

$49.95 at Destinations.

And finally, the Pauly D Ultra Advanced Instant Dark Bronzing Spray. This baby goes on green so you don’t miss a spot. Cause that looks ugly. It also “delivers the deepest, darkest bronze color available in a self tanning spray”.

Pauly D's Ultra Advanced Instant Dark Bronzing Spray

Try it yourself. $18.95 at Destinations in The Waterfront Shops.

You still need to come to the Jersey Shore to get a tan, but this time you can get a quick fix at Harrah’s and not shorten your life expectancy in the actual sun. We’re all for it!

Coheed and Cambria News, Win House Of Blues Atlantic City Tickets, And More Cool Stuff

How’s that for a header?

Claudio Sanchez, frontman of popular rock/alternative/metal band Coheed and Cambria, told AOL Noisecreep yesterday that the band’s next release (their sixth studio album), The Afterman, will be put out in two installments. Part one, The Afterman: Ascension will be released on October 9th and the second volume, The Afterman: Descension, will be ready to buy (digitally and physically) in February 2013. Sanchez wants fans to really take in the Ascension before the Descension. He is a rock star. He can do what he wants.

Coheed And Cambria

We’re going to guess that you will hear snippets of The Afterman: Ascension on September 29th when Coheed and Cambria come to House Of Blues Atlantic City at Showboat.

And guess what? You can win tickets to a HOB show by entering our House Of Blues Facebook Pick My Concert Sweepstakes and House Of Blues Twitter Pick My Concert Sweepstakes.

Actually, you can win two free tickets to a concert of your choice at House Of Blues Atlantic City after September 14th (when the contest ends). And that’s not all. You’ll also score a two night stay in a House Of Blues Suite at Showboat Atlantic City, dinner for two at The Foundation Room at Showboat where you’ll be totally dining in class, free entry for two later at the Foundation Room After Hours and a free lunch at Crossroads at the House Of Blues. Concerts and food are two of our favorite things. Especially when they are free.

Aside from Coheed and Cambria, the HOB has some other amazeballs Atlantic City shows coming up this year including Slash, Gary Allan, and Morrissey. A little something for everyone. Click here for the complete schedule of acts. Did you enter the sweepstakes yet? Who do you want to see?

Your Total AC Blog Jabbawockeez At Harrah’s Resort Show Review

As promised when they first got to town, it’s time for your Jabbawockeez show review.

Everyone was grooving Wednesday night at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City thanks to these guys, the men/Jabbas of the hour.

Jabbawockeez

The Jabbawockeez are masters of combining slow and quick movements in unison while also breaking the traditional dance group mold at times with each member almost giving their own performance simultaneously. It works though. You’re still drawn to them as a group. And each time you see them, you gain a different perspective.

They are also amazingly awesome at playing off the crowd. Three lucky audience members even got to join the guys on stage Wednesday night…the luckiest being the lady participant…let me tell you. They flirted with her this time….and totally stole our thunder. We’re still kind of jealous.

Jabbawockeez 2

(We try to remind ourselves of this moment and it consoles us for a bit).

Moving on…so from the start of the show, we were told that the Jabbawockeez are a figment of your imagination.

Jabbawockeez 3

See?

We believe it.  Without giving too much away, the guys took us (via break dance, head spins, back flips, running mans, and lots of other fancy foot work) through different scenarios ranging from a Gene Kelly-esque number to Sir Mixalot booty popping. How’s that for variety?

Jabbawockeez 4

When you buy a ticket to see the Jabbawockeez, you are absolutely buying a ticket to see a great dance show, but you also get incredible theatrics and are able to walk away with a meaning personal to you. And like we said, the cool part is that every time can be a different experience!

Be sure to catch the Jabbawockeez at least once (but we suggest multiple times!) now through September 2nd at Harrah’s. Get your tix here and get ready to get your dance on!
